The best website ever for people wanting to get into photography is:

He gives you no simple no B.S advice on everything to do with photography.
Before I came across his site photography for me was really confusing and seemed very expensive - you have to buy a latest hi-tech camera and loads of complex accessories etc. etc.
What I like about Ken rockwell is he understands all the photography industries tactics for bamboozling the customer and helps you find a camera suitable for what you want to do and for how much you have to spend.
Next post I'll talk more about what gear I ended up getting.
